For Ā«impenetrableĀ» occupational safety
Needlestick injuries are the most frequent occupational accidents in the Swiss health care system. As a result, dangerous infectious diseases such as hepatitis and HIV can be transmitted via blood. This specialist group works together with its partners to promote improvements and the standardised implementation of occupational health and safety guidelines throughout Switzerland. Aims

  • Improve occupational safety regarding needlestick injuries and collaborate with a variety of stakeholders for consistent implementation throughout Switzerland;
  • Establish comprehensive and sustainable occupational health and safety standards through a directive of the Swiss Federal Coordination Commission for Occupational Safety and Health (FCOS);
  • Increase the usage of safe instruments.

Activities

  • Consider collaborating with other specialist associations for the adoption of a new FCOS Directive
  • Organise roundtables, podiums, and public relations campaigns
