Swiss Medtech Webinar
US tariffs and their impact on the medtech industry
After the 90-day deadline, Swiss medtech exports are threatened with massive tariffs: Since 5 April, 10% tariffs on Swiss medtech products have been in force in the USA – significantly more than before. From 9 July, tariffs of over 30% could even come into force if no solution is found. The webinar analyses the current situation, highlights options for action for companies and answers practical export questions.
Adrian Hunn, Director of Swiss Medtech, gives a brief overview of possible customs scenarios after the 90-day deadline and explains the position and political demands of the association.
Luc Schnurrenberger, Deputy Head of Foreign Trade at economiesuisse, presents the new «Customs Ticker» and gives an assessment of current trade policy developments and their impact on the medtech industry.
The two Co-CEOs Bernhard Bichsel and Sandra Item from ISS AG, Integrated Scientific Services, will use concrete consulting experience to show how medtech companies can deal pragmatically with customs issues and regulatory challenges – especially for digital products.
Regula Grau, Export Specialist, Switzerland Global Enterprise, will answer common export questions from medtech practice and discuss specific challenges and solutions in the international movement of goods.
Target group
Executives, export managers and regulatory and public affairs specialists from the Swiss medtech industry. The event will be offered in English on 21 May. It is free of charge for members of Swiss Medtech. All other interested parties can register for a fee of CHF 60.
